Pierce was one of the many young boys trying to escape the war. He and his older brother got caught. While his brother did not put up as much as a fight Pierce was determined to escape. After getting hit in the back of the head he was left to die out in the pouring rain. When waking up he finds a guy named Caius saved his life and nursed him to health while he was in what he calls a "deep sleep". Over a period of time Caius tries to help Pierce remember his life during the war and before. During this time Caius and Pierce get very close and Pierce has hidden emotions he wants to unveil but can't because he doesn't know how Caius will react.
