Everything in the future is grim. The sickness named snake has spread, animals has evolved to kill us, and safe places are scarce. But there is one place where the human race is safe. In the sky. Massive ships called kites hold the lucky ones above the new horrors of earth. But 16 year old Cara Black knows of another. A willow forest of which her uncle taught her everything she knows. But when she meets mysterious jake her whole world changes. And soon she finds herself in the metal walls of the ship, and finds secrets that are worse than the nature of the planet designed to kill humans.
