I am not much of a poet, but I have surprised myself by completing twelve decent poems for this portfolio. Every poem (except the song) is free write, which is my comfort zone. Free write poetry is like writing a novel, but with stanzas and rhythm. Also, poems are more brief. I am not a fan of writing brief things. Some of my poems I want to continue to the point where they would be chapters. Fortunately, I was able to keep it down to mostly four line stanzas. That is my favorite way of writing poems. Four line stanzas are also comforting for me, although some poems do have more.

Originally, I was never going to do the poetry portfolio, and instead, submit more of my novel, or short stories as a grade. I feel, in the the poetry unit, that seems too wrong. I went along, but I haven't done much poetry in a while, so I selected mainly independent poetry I wrote among the course of two weeks. There are two works in here that I took from classroom assignments, a daily entry poem and the song, but the rest are the work I did outside of school.

My creative writing assignment for school. Each chapter is a poem with it's analysis followed by a picture to relate to the poem. (Wattpad started betraying me after the first poem so the stanzas don't exactly exist. To my teacher - I sent you the google docs version so you can see the stanzas, but here is where the analyses are after each poem)
