Charlotte had spent the past six months pretending she wasn't heartbroken. She threw herself into work, took on the most dangerous assignments, and avoided Engfa like the plague. But now, Engfa was her boss. She couldn't escape her. She was everywhere, making it nearly impossible for Charlotte to focus. [Now With Photos!] Who are you? No, I don't mean your character. Who are you? I wonder this question every time I go to a con. I try to find a quiet spot and people watch. And my eyes are always drawn to the cosplayers: the young, the old, the experienced, the store-bought newbies, everybody. But even as I pose and smile, as the flash goes off, I wonder, who is this person? This person standing next to me, who has devoted so much time and so much more money to becoming this character? What is it about you, yes you, that compels you to travel, sometimes very far distances, to a con and give up an entire weekend to pretend to be someone you are not? It took me a couple of years to get the guts to start actually asking these questions. When I did, I wasn't disappointed. And that's where Masks Off came from. The girl I grew up to know is not who I am today, who I am today is not who I see or envision to be in future, I look at myself now and see that I am the now the present. In truth, apparent awakening cannot occur in anyone's presence but it can only occur in anyone's absence. I couldn't have "experience" what I'm truly called for from "afar" because there is no such thing as a distance for Oneness. There is no one "over here" to gain knowledge of something "over there." "thanks!" I called out to the girl behind the counter of Starbucks. I was about to sit down when I heard someone walk in. their voice sounded so familiar. I looked up from my seat and seen a girl walk in and head towards the counter. She had long brown waves that fell down her back stopping at her waist. she had a guy beside her, his arm drapped on her hips. She looked up and smiled at him, he was tall and had Dark hair with blue eyes. I couldnt help but stare at how beautiful this girl was , and how oddly familiar she looked. it wasn't until she turned around when the girl behind the counter called out her name that was written on the cup. I jolted up and my Very Berry Hibiscus refresher went all over the floor. Everyone looked at me, but the only person I was staring at was the girl in front of me, only a few feet away. It wasn't until our eyes made contact that I realized who it was. This was the girl I've been having a dreams and nightmares about for the last 3 years. Geovanni Have you ever gotten that feeling that somebody was watching you? And that person who was watching you wasn't normal. I have felt that way all of my life; but then again I felt as if I went missing nobody would even notice or care I was gone. I am 23 and just graduated from college. I was there an extra year because I had to take care of my family. I had to transfer back into the city and pick up the extra work because my mom died, and my dad became addicted to anything that would numb his pain. My little sister and brother would be lost without me here. But now I could care less. A cold breeze blew through my window waking me up from my thoughts. I looked over in the corner and saw that nothing was there. It was odd because I felt like someone well more like something was there. It had to be my imagination getting the best of me. I laid back in my bed and closed my eyes. Then all of a sudden I got the feeling I wasn't alone. But the really strange thing is that even if there was someone in here with me I felt safe. Jordan. I watched her as she slept. In fact I have been watching her since she was born. I have waited half a century to find that one person. I think I have finally settled on her. She was my choice. I know. After being in as many relationships as I have you know things. I felt my fangs tingle. Her blood smelled so sweet. Her heartbeat was steady and strong. I took my tongue and ran it across my fang. The temptation to indulge in her red liquid was far too strong. I let out a low growl and jumped out her window. I was ready for a hunt. "Did you see her Jordan?" "Yes, and tomorrow night you will turn her," "Why do I have to turn her?" "Ezra, you know once you turn them, they hate you," "I didn't hate pops," "You wanted to join though," "True, but first see if she wants to be turn before you jump to conclusions," I nodded my head, before me and Ezra took off to find some fresh blood for the night.

I see the pain she hides away, I see the lack of confidence despite how smart she is, how good. If there's something I've learned, it's that confidence makes all the difference. So, it becomes my mission to help Amber find her confidence. But I find more than confidence in her and suddenly I'm seeing my best mate's little sister completely differently. Except, there might be something in the way she smiles at me that gives me hope I'm not as far out of her league as I thought. It might just be time that this chaos gets a little geek.
