We left like thieves in the middle of the night.
We got in quietly in the boat that roared away into the darkness.
I looked around me. I was surrounded by whispers and dreams, fears and hope.
The only way that was left to us was to throw ourselves into the unknown.
I was the only one to look back.
I craved what I left behind. I missed the colours, the smells, the smiles and little touches.
The feeling of belonging.
