The door of my boss is frightening. From floor to ceiling with one big handle.
"Hi, I'm your new assistant." I knock gently at the door of my new boss, Garret Williams. His back is towards me as he continues to gaze out the window. His shoulders are broad as if he can hold the weight of the world on them, his posture is straight. His brown his is neatly cut. He clears his throat in response as I make myself known in his presence.
"Yes, Greta has told me about you. It is a pleasure to meet you, Divine. Please, take a seat." Nervously, I walk ever so slowly, trying not to trip over my two left feet. I can't help myself but look around his office. The walls are bare, his desk is cluttered with papers. To the left, a closet with the door slightly left ajar.
"Don't let him intimidate you." My inner deity chants me on from the sidelines in my heart. I take a seat as gracefully as I can in the brown leather chair.
"Mr. Williams, it is very nice to meet you. I am very excited to be working with you." My throat croaks out the words out as my new boss turns around swiftly and I look into his deep grey eyes.
"You will be working for me." His dominant tone makes me flinch as he and I have a stare down. I'm running a race that I will eventually lose. My heart is racing and he knows it. "You will answer to me and only me. Everything that needs to be done, I expect it done right away. If any one in this company gives you any sort of bulls#hit, you tell me and I'll take care of it. You got it?"
