June McIntyre and Jo Peters: two best friends among the group of teenagers recognized under the label of "Ungifted" according to the United States government.

After mass destruction, killings, natural disasters, and chaos, young adults have been classified into two divisions, gifted and ungifted. The ungifted are known as the impurities in a broken society that is trying to find solutions to the mass chaos occurring under its government's rule. 

When June and Jo realize the truth about the world around them and themselves, they embark on a journey unlike anyone's of the past. With a few obstacles, conflicts, and a little bit of romance in their way, their journey will be nothing close to easy. Will the two and their group of friends accomplish the impossible and save their country, or will they fail and leave the world to fall to shambles?
