In 2018, the world ended. Not with war. Not with a bang. The world ended when legends came to life. It started with small reports. Then it escalated to recorded encounters. In the span of a few months, the sky filled with creatures long thought myths. Streets ran red with blood and screams. In hardly any time at all, the world was reduced back to the dark ages. Now, humans live in scattered communities, trying to live in a world run by monsters. All striving for one thing. A world they don't have to fear.

I never believed it would end like this. I was just watching Netflix when the power went out, then before I knew it everyone was screaming, then the school began to shake and fell to the ground. Only three kids in my entire school were spared, four if you count me. I found a group of people heading to the east coast for a boat trip to a supposed safe haven in India. They died of disease days later. I found their bodies by the river. But I guess this is my life now, surviving with a scared boy, a pair of twins and trying to make it to the next day. Screams! Thats all I could hear , as I lay on sidewalk covered in a pool of my own blood . "Am I really gonna die....like this " I said with a heavy sigh .
