Douglas Clyne lived a simple farm life near the outskirts of Freeside. He was an only child, and he was living with his mother and father until his 18th birthday, which was only weeks away. Douglas' main goal was to explore the Mojave Wasteland and to see all of its wonders, but his father had other plans. A deal that his father struck when Douglas was an infant. One that he tried to forget, but could never get it to leave his mind. And his father was going to tell him the day of his 18th birthday, and it would change his life forever.
