Marilyn Rose Torgerson, an ordinary college student living in Southern California, finds an antique pocket watch.
Soon realizing this vintage piece of jewelry is a time device, it transports her to the alternate universe of the Monkees television show.
Marilyn learns to adapt in a different time period, meeting all kinds of characters, including a handsome Texan with a wool hat by the name of Michael Nesmith.
Stuck with hard decisions, Marilyn must make important choices in her life that could affect her whole life: Return to her time period of the present and live a normal life, or, stay in the alternate universe and be with the one she loves.
