Oh, that's it! Gazzy, I thought you were on my side!" I huffed.
"I'm easily persuaded," he said with a shrug that turned into a laugh as I took off after them.
By the time Max and Fang arrived back at camp with six dead lizards in tow, we were all on the ground covered with a layer of sand and dust, out of breath but still laughing.
"Oh jeez," Max said, but even Fang couldn't help but crack a smile.
No matter what Itex might do to us, we would go through it together.
