Jenna darling...Mommy and Daddy were," she hesitated, hands shaking as they held mine, "they were, killed by a very bad man.", my sister choked out at last.

In that one moment, my world changed.

Large, round tears flowed from my blue eyes and dripped off my chin, but I didn't know why I was crying. All I knew was that I felt a deep and excruciating pain. It felt as if everything was ripped out of me and I was left standing there, an empty and broken shell. From somewhere very far away I heard my older sister sobbing. With every tear that slid down my face, and every sob that racked Sandra's body, I felt something dark and foreign grow inside of me, consuming everything in its path. The edges of my vision darkened and my body went numb and cold. Like a candle that had been snuffed out, my knees buckled and my vision wavered one last time before everything went dark.
