Against the World

Agna Diane Prendergast is losing her mind trying to live up to her parent's expectations. To the outside world, she seems like the picture perfect daughter living a picture perfect life. What the outside world doesn't see, however, is what happens behind her family's mansion's walls. The house shelters a dysfunctional family and harbors dark secrets that her parents would do anything to protect.

Agna knows that she is expected to graduate from her prestigious private academy and follow in her parents' footsteps, whatever dark paths they may take her down, or face the consequences if she chooses to pave a path of her own. The fact that she can't find the strength to make a choice about her future is what scares her the most.

However, a chance encounter with a boy from the other side of town, although he might as well be from the other side of the earth, may change that for Agna. Finding the strength to let someone new into her life, who actually cares for her, may just be what Agna needs to realize it doesn't just have to be her against the world.
