By my fourteenth birthday, she was gone. Father couldn't have taken it any worse. He immediately shut me out and welcomed drugs and alcohol. it took three months to get a word from him, and when I did it was verbal attacks. Soon after, the physical abuse initiated. Five boys came into my life and saved me. I was withering away, but I could breathe again.
