Because of you and life's demons

(Intro)...my mother always told me, 'stay away from the railroad tracks' and when I'd ask why, she'd say, 'well because they're dangerous'. I never understood my mother. She protected me from everything. She never let me have my own life. I think that's part of the reason why I lie. I also think it's part of the reason why I dream big. She never let me do anything that was out of the ordinary. I called riding my bike in the backyard fun. When I finally was able to go to school and make friends, I always made things we did better. We would be in the house and we'd hear something and I'd make up this whole big thing about what it could be. It'd usually be something scary, like there was a ghost walking around or something. I found it fun to scare myself for some odd reason. I had no idea why. My mind was what my family called, 'twisted'. I didn't find it twisted at all...I thought of myself as unique. It wasn't until something scary actually happened, that I finally found out just how real ghosts were. It was then, that I stopped making up stories...that I joined reality.
