The sun beat down on my dirt covered face, making my skin feel tight. The ropes burned my skin as I struggled to get my arms free. The screams from the other women seemed to last for hours, then silence. I knew that the dead would come for us soon. (How did I get myself into this situation, and how am I going to get out?) Think, Leah, you have to survive this, think hard. I could hear them coming in the distance. There's not much time left. The others had faded away, and I had to use them to save my life. What has my life come to?- was my thought as I pulled layers of skin back from a girl I had only known for a short time. Her name was Carly with short blonde hair and sky blue eyes. "Thank you, Carly, for helping me," I whispered as I smeared her blood on my face. I began to feel weak. How long has it been, and how long can I survive? As I contemplated these questions, my mind began to slowly sink into darkness... They are closer now, and soon I'll be free...was my last thoughts.
