Have you ever felt so broken that you couldn't pull yourself out of bed and continue to live your life like you used to. A simple task such as tying your shoes already seems like a huge burden on your account. Struggling with yourself because everything around you doesn't matter anymore. I WROTE THIS SO YOUNG BACK!! IM SORRY IF THIS HAS MADE YOU CRINGE. TOO LAZY TO REEDIT. .... The word 'miserable' describes my whole life and myself. It started with my past, the one my parents caused. They're the reason for what they caused on my brother. Next was me. I was told as a 'mistake' and had things physically done to me. I couldn't handle being tortured like this. I ran away from Canada to California. My friends introduced me to someone whose the most indescribable boy I've met. My life was changing from miserable to. . .less miserable. I couldn't describe how happy he made me feel. Then I found something out which made me realize how much I didn't like him. I kept telling myself I really liked him but I never actually liked him as much as I tried telling myself. That, I can never forget. He tried to apologize, but I didn't accept it. And I never saw or heard about him since then. Some relationships don't even last a full 24 hours. Be careful who you choose. Easton King has had a hard life. His parents abandoned him as a toddler and he's been from home to home for as long as he can remember. Nobody seems to want him, they just keep him for a little and eventually they all throw him away to be somebody else's problem. Because of this, he has never been close to anyone. He's learned from a young age that he can't trust anybody to stick with him. Don't get me wrong, he still has friends. In fact, Easton is one of the most popular boys in school. No one knows about his home life because he never talks about it and never hangs out with people outside of school. Derek Danvers (his friends jokingly call him DeeDee) has had a better life. He lives with his family and they are loving and decently forgiving like most parents are. He has suffered from depression and anxiety but not nearly as severely as Easton. He lives his life one day at a time and he doesn't depend on his friends but he trusts that they'll stay by his side, and if they don't then it's for the best. They didn't deserve him. Everyone in the school knows Easton puts up walls. No one gets within two or three feet of him, no one asks about his home life, and no one asks if they can go to his house or if he can go to theirs. There are a lot of things you don't really think about until they happen to you. Take rape, for instance. I always thought, "That won't happen to me. I have a boyfriend. I trust him. He would never take advantage of me like that..." I couldn't have been more wrong. Love in this day and age is often confused for manipulation and abuse. The warning signs are here. The things we say will tell us everything that is wrong. You are worth more than what you think you are. It's not your fault. If they tell you otherwise, get out. Burn the bridge. Always remember someone is waiting for you to walk into their life. Someone needs you. Someone loves you. Getting away from all of the wrong people and finding the right ones could save you. I can promise you right now that it saved me. These are the journal entries and selected poems from my first experience of love that left a unpleasant taste in my mouth- quite literally.
