The Cold Hard Truth

Have you ever been involved in a murder? My hope is that your answer to this is no. I have, but don't take that the wrong way. I helped solve a murder, I didn't commit the crime. I wasn't the only one, I had help of course. This is our story.
Sandy

...there was a loud crash from what appeared to be the kitchen area. Blair sprang off the couch and darted into the kitchen.
"Sandy...Ruby...you might wanna see this..." Her voice floated out to Sandy and me.
" Are you guys okay?" Rosiel yelled down from upstairs.
" I dunno. I think so?" I called up. Blair shouted for us again.
"Please. You'll really wanna see this." She sounded nervous.
"You don't sound sure." Rosiel observed from upstairs, responding to what I'd said before.
"Rosiel, just go downstairs. Then you can stop yelling." I heard Fisk grumble. Sandy and I got off the couch, meeting Fisk and Rosiel at the bottom of the stairs. The four of us hurried to the kitchen, where Blair stood, hands shaking, pointing out the open window at the crudely written message staining the white snow bright red.
