The whole school was talking about it. It was something unusual from his part. Some call it weird, others call it true art, but I don't know what to call it. How could a guy so serious have created something with more value than I've ever seen in my life? Max was serious about everything, yet he never spoke. Everyone calls him the "scary" one, but I don't think it's true. I'm trying to understand him, but I don't think he wants anyone to know. To know who he really is. The painting was simply stunning. A story about pain. What happened in his life, that made him feel such pain?

My friend at school told me he was writing a book called this but didn't know what it was going to be about, so I said "why don't we both write a version of it and then compare them to see what we each did differently," so this is it! This story is about a man called max who dies in an accident and finds himself on a giant spaceship. Where a select few go to look eternally for the gem of thunder, and nobody has obtained it yet. I always thought I was safe, you know? I mean, it wasn't really something I thought about before. It's not like I had a reason to worry about being particularly unsafe. I've always been perfectly normal anyways. Nothing exciting or dangerous happened to me. My entire philosophy, however, was completely and drastically changed after being attacked and raped one night. I probably would have been killed if it weren't for Drake Collins, the closed off "tough guy" of my school. He came to my rescue, and reluctantly swore not to breathe a word to anyone. Unfortunately, my attacker escaped. It was after that, that I closed myself off from the few people that I did talk to before. My safety, my very sense of security, was violated.
