Jongin was taken into custody by the Authorities after reports of screaming and crying came from his house, and later an investigation. Neighbors claimed to hear hear yelling and breaking glass days before, along with loud music coming from the garage and a heavy odor of cigarette smoke. As police made their way through the home they found piles of glass and cigarette boxes that all had traces of blood on them. They decided to separate, as it was safe since Jongin was outside with three other officers in handcuffs. One of the officers inside let out a shriek after finding a dead Kyungsoo in the bedroom closet.
