He is lucky because his two friends named Tyler and Davis are in the school. He is also unlucky because his former bully named Sam who is a gray and white lynx who has the same classes as him but Ryan doesn't have the same classes as his friends. However, Sam is different from before. He wants to have a better relationship with Ryan but he doesn't seem to want that at first. Sam won't give up on Ryan though.
