Jonathan is absolutely miserable. Ever since his dad dragged him aboard his already breaking ship, he's had nothing to do to keep him entertained. That is until he overhears talk about sirens in the area. And if he catches one, he can finally prove to his dad that he is not useless.

Sock is a siren, just like everyone else under the waves. Thing is, sirens don't do what they used to anymore. They don't sink ships, they don't kill people. They especially don't trick people into falling in love anymore. Despite what Mephistopheles says, Sock goes to continue what he's always wanted to do.

A mermaid named Sirène, whose job as a mermaid is to guide those who have died at sea to rest their souls and not be trapped. She typically finds sailors whose ships have sunk, and pirates and convoys alike. Her personality is one of seriousness, and she does not express herself by facial expressions very often. She does sung lovely tunes though, ones of the sea and winds, not ones meant to lure anyone to their doom. She seldom spends time with other merfolk and prefers to be on her own. She is however very curious of the various emotions humans possess and their intensity, since she does not feel these. One day, while Sirène was staying near Pointe de Pen Hir, a dangerous cliffside that plunges right into the ocean. Looking upwards by chance, she saw a human, a man, standing dangerously near the edge of the rocks. The wind blew harshly and she could only watch and wait as he toppled over the edge and feel towards the ocean. She saw no fight in him as he fell. ________________________________________________________________ This is a fantasy story with my mermaid OC that I started making back when I was in middle school. I've used her character to help me through tough times and I am revisiting her. I want to make sure I have a place to remember her story, and make it a happier one than before.

They're smaller, like a human borrower, 5 inches tall The merman's duty is to complete prophesies at his own will (not forced like in the webtoon), but the only disadvantage he has is the fear of merchildren As he swims to do a prophesy, something stops him and gets caught in the chaos of the ocean near the surface, for he heard rumors that the surface is a dangerous place for any merman or mermaid, but to the Beacon, it was a blessing
