Nico di Angelo is a Guardian--a near-human species that has gone nearly extinct and is hardly known outside of minority religious circles. In the nearby village, he's known instead as the Monster due to the king's relentless hunting teams sent to find and kill the strange entity.
Will Solace is having a particularly bad day, which is why he's desperate enough for companionship that he's spent the last few agonizing hours talking to the person who's been stalking him. But despite Will's desire for a friend, the truth about his stalker makes him rethink everything.
Nico and Will meet, accuse each other of trying to kill each other, and slowly learn to lean on each other.
The only problem with their deepening relationship: Guardians and humans have a sacred pact to prevent war between species--and rule number one is that there shall be no romance between Guardians and humans.
Together, they embark on a perilous journey, battling against the odds to defy fate and carve out a future where acceptance and understanding can flourish amidst the shadows of intolerance.

It just made it that much easier to keep hidden the secret residing under his sleeves. Will Solace is a down-to-Earth healer with a lot more darkness than he lets on. He's determined to help anyone he can who needs it. This includes the dense (yet admittedly cute) son of Hades, who might even be more stubborn than Will. After a nail-biting battle against the Earth Mother herself, these boys find themselves in the infirmary together for a promised three days. While they're certainly different at first glance, soon enough, they find themselves more similar than believable. As their relationship blossoms into something more, Nico gets a premonition of something coming, worthy of breaking the two apart. Will they be able to fight their apparent fate?
