When the dragon flu had come, it washed over the world killing most of the people of Terra. In an attempt to save their people, the government took them deep into the underground to a city constructed for emergencies. Twelve hundred and twenty one years later, the city was massive and thriving.
Grant had a good job, comfortable home, and life in general offered little to complain about. After being ripped from his bed in the early morning by the city watch one morning, Grant found himself labeled as a trader and thrown down into the mines with mutants and criminals.
Half mutant and half Terren, Zdana survived being crippled by the Capital City Council. Live in the mines was an everyday struggle. Starvation, fog, mine collapse were only a few of the things her people faced every day.
When Grant came into the mines, he brought with him something Zdana had been seeking. A clue they may lead to all of their freedom. All they had to do, was keep it hidden from the city watch, and the Council.

Trigger warning - Severely sensitive topics. Around 20 years ago, an unknown virus plagued the Earth, one that attacks genetic codes and destroys whatever it infiltrates. Humans, animals, plants, you name it. In order to adapt to this living nightmare, daily routines suffered an overhaul. But even so cities fell, nations were destroyed, countries obliterated by the scourge of war. Humanity driven to the brink of extinction. In a desperate attempt to save the remnants of mankind, "Colonies" were created. Strategically placed in areas the infected are naturally unable to congregate in. For some unknown reason, they disintegrate or break themselves apart in desperate attempts to escape the inside of a Colony. On the flip-side, they often create nests where they're attracted to others of their kind. The motives that result in such behavior have yet to be discovered. These are called "Contamination Zones". Pools of infection that produce genetic amalgams beyond human comprehension. The fuel for nightmares that plague even the strongest of minds. In addition, several of these Colonies and outposts have started to rapidly perish. Dozens of them breached all over the continent. The infected seem to be growing stronger. This world has given Kayden Moss gentle insight into it's offers. It has made him travel from place to place, Colony or not, in order to simply awaken to fight another day. Eventually, at 19 years old, he came across a peculiar Colony named Zamaton, where he's lived ever since. News of the breaches reach the Warden of the Colony, Rhys, who demands measures to ensure everyone's safety start taking effect. Kayden however, is unaware of them, getting summoned into Rhys's office without previous notice. This only occurs for important matters, or for him to receive scolding for his actions. Whatever the case, he's sure the news are sour. Depending on the situation, the breaches might remain away from the Colony. Or so it seems.

That's why he is standing near the underground fighting ring ready to get his ass handed to him. Somehow he lands a punch on the notorious Grayson Miller, who is feared by most in the unground fighting ring. "I'm so dead Benny, what the fuck was I thinking?" Bryan whispers to his best friend. "Your puny ass will be dead within a week here." Grayson glares at the man. But is surprisingly impressed by the punch Bryan delivered to him. "I don't have a choice, I rather it be me than my daughter." He has no idea why he just told this stranger that. Or why he gets a sense of familiarity around this intimidating man. But no matter what he won't back down. For some strange reason Grayson wants to help him, but will not let Bryan know it. "Your funeral, meet me here tomorrow at ten am and I will show you how to properly fight." Grayson also has ulterior motives to helping Bryan out. Little did they both know that they shared a history that will soon come to light once training begins. How they will deal with that history is anyone's guess. Copyright © 2022 All rights reserved. Today marks 15 years since the U.S. Government issued a nationwide evacuation, but the only safe place was underground. They claimed scientists had measured an immense amount of pressure on the sun's surface that posed a serious threat to Earth. The media exploded with different ideas, breaking down what vague warning was given to the public. Some ignored these warnings as others prepared and went underground, such as my mother and I did. We were two of the 33 that were lucky enough to be taken in by the Vinyard's in their bunker they built, however not all were fortunate enough to make it through the 15 long years. We all had a name for the phenomenon that sent us under - The Burial. The surface rattled with mysterious noises over the next 5 years. As soon everyone got used to the noise, it all grew silent. Since all communications were cut off from the surface, we were all lost in the dark as to what really happened to our home, but no one dared to suggest leaving. However, the Vinyard's had a set of rules for their bunker: Ensure you are doing your part to keep the bunker running. Never take more than you need. No procreation. However, the last, but most important rule; Never go near the bunker door - ever. The year is 2071 and now there are only 40 of us left out of the 100 that began this underground journey. What we once considered an unlimited amount of food is starting to thin and run low. Keeping morale high is also becoming a strenuous task. Many don't believe there's life outside the bunker doors and many are too scared to think about it, but undiscovered secrets within the Vinyard's bunker may lead to a new, and literal, unearthing of information.
