It's been 55 years since Rose's last letter to Jasper. It's been 50 years since Jasper married Rose. It's been 3 months since Rose died. If it weren't for Rose's letters, Jasper wouldn't have survived long enough to have had his life with Rose. In honor of her life and his, Jasper begins to write his own letters to Rose and leaves them, along with a colored rose, on her grave.
