Rosie only cares about two things in her life... her little brother Jackson and where she is going to find their next meal. In a world where human arrogance has ended in a man made apocalyptic flood you could say that it is little hard to find good job, unless you count being turned into half machine men who patrol the city "keeping the peace"( which here means beating innocent people into obedience ) a good job, which Rosie definitely doesn't.
After her Grandfather dies protecting their families secret, Rosie sets off with Jackson, their cowardly puppy Amira and a whole lot of attitude in search of a new home where she meets Toby, a fellow runaway with a spiky hair and obvious intentions. together they try to navigate the new worlds they find on their way t finding a home.
