I am Ann Rosa. I am sixteen. I am constantly afraid. My life is a secret to all but a few. I can't tell anyone who I am. I was blessed with magic but magic is a curse to me. Magic is what makes me afraid. Magic saves my life, but it is also why people hunt me, and try to kill me.

My past haunts me. My future betrays me. My present is deadly. I must survive and I must protect. The king wants to kill me. I protect one who would kill me if she knew who I was. And my past will destroy me.
