17 year old Jackie wakes after attempting suicide. It turns out Jackie has been in a coma for a 5 years now. She was surprised they didn't they didn't just let her go. Now she's missed out on her entire childhood and with no way of getting it back. Still trying to get her life pieces together, something strange happens. She discovers her abilities to shapeshift. Something had happened to her while in her coma and just as her life is finally gluing itself back together it all falls apart again. She's suddenly running from everything. No where to go and no one to trust. Until she meets Zane, who has the same abilities. And, it turns out there not the only ones. They find many more recruits creating the Shifters.
