Who Knew?
Ryan's cheerful whistling echoes throughout the hallway as we emerge in the cafeteria and a small hush settles over everyone. Ryan grabs a tray and then leads us to a table in the corner of the room. Sunlight is streaming through the big glass doors and as I stare my mind begins to go blank, my breathing becoming nonexistent while Ryan and the new guard sit across from me talking quietly. I'm thrown back into my memories and before I can stop it fear is constricting my throat, screams bouncing off the walls around me. Running feet pounding against the floors. Shouts everywhere I turn. My heart beats faster and faster as it crawls up my throat, and I don't try to stop it. My emotions are trapped inside of me. I try to express them freely. I've tried for years, but I always fail. The kids in my school call me Blank Face. They sing and mock me. They think that I don't care. They think that I am an empty vessel rather than a person, but they are wrong. I am empty only on the outside. They don't understand. At first, my intension was to kill her. But then something happened that changed everything. *Strong language* This is my first X Reader fan fiction.
