At one month old, a little girl lay wrapped in a blanket inside a small woven basket that rested in the hands of a woman. The woman pulled her hood up further to cover her face. Tears silently fell, splashing in the puddles beneath her feet as the rain fell from the sky. She set the basket down on the doormat of an apartment and rang the doorbell then ran down the stairs and into the night. A tall ginger man came to the door and looked around, as he saw no one there. Seeing her mother run away with her own blue eyes and seeing a stranger looming above her, the little girl in the basket cried. The man looked down and gasped, picking up the basket and bringing it inside.
