"I never meant to actually miss it!" I squeal to the desk lady, but she doesn't seem to understand my language. Ha, no pun intended! Sorry, I shouldn't be joking right now.

"Desole, ma Cherie. Je ne parle pas en anglais, et t'attrape l'aero."

I shake my head, "I don't know what you mean." My head turns back and I scan the room for other tourists, but none of them catch my eye. Back to the desk lady, is she a clerk? An attendant, or what? What is she?

I slam my fists on the desk, "Get me back to my country! I need to get home, and I don't know why you don't speak English, you work in a freaking airport!"

Behind me a ruckus takes place, but I ignore it, "I want my money back if you won't let me go home! I paid for this! I paid a lot to come here, and go home! It was a two-way ticket! Round trip!" And two security guards take hold of my arms, controlling me in their gibberish, and leading me away from the desk.

Meet Aria, younger sister, American gamer, cat-crazy, anime-freak, and now stuck in France. Sometimes she does the wrong thing, or her college-age-brother-influenced mind takes over and things just get worse for her. And when her brother leaves her behind while boarding the plane home, everything goes downhill from there. She gets in trouble by security, embarrasses herself in front of several elite students, meets an arrogant French boy... countless times.

Who is she kidding, this should be fun! She's stuck in Paris!

No. Being stuck in Paris is the worst idea anyone could ever deal with.

Me, an extremely friendly, fun loving, good looking, incredibly humorous being, Check.. My girl, an average enough, beautiful enough, funny, outspoken, 'okayish' African-Latina female with an annoying enough sibling, Check.. My other girl, a pretty enough, rich, almost spoilt, outspoken, and free-spirited, French chick with a bad taste in male partners, Check.. A dream job that becomes a nightmare, Check.. The man whose name is 'boss', Check.. Oh crap! Just go on and read the adventures of the two friends of man's second best friend from the perspective of man's second best friend.. But wait a second! Whoever made us man's second best friends when we're far more beneficial that those lowly woof-woofs?! *********** EXCERPT "I'm not sure you completely understand the situation you're in right now, Alessandra" I heard the sounds before I saw it. The headlights of none other than an incoming train. Phew! In the very least, people will be around to call 911 if he whips out a gun to shoot me here, right now and kill me! Hold on a second! Something still doesn't feel right.. Yes! That's an incoming train. Wheeled vehicles that travel on tracks! Railway tracks! And we're fucking on its way! The realisation of my predicament dawned on me and slapped me hard in the face, for not realizing it sooner. I turned to David, horror-stricken. "It's either work for me, willingly, or a fatal automobile accident. And if I'm having another bout of benevolence, your brother gets to join you on the other side too.."

February 1993 • Milan, Italy ᥫ᭡ Marisa, twenty something, brimming with ambition, is en route to France for work. She works in publishing, and maybe this promotion that's on the horizon will finally be the golden ticket that spirals her into a better life. But the universe makes other plans for her. Plans in the form of airport chaos and a man who looks like he was designed in a lab for the sole purpose of being her next romantic distraction. Decorated with an ambiguous accent and just enough aloofness to be irritating... or maybe just French. And of course, she finds him at the very moment she's trying (and failing) to locate both her inner peace and her passport. Marisa is not the type to fall for foreigners in international terminals. She's a pragmatist with a healthy mistrust of attractive men with high cheekbones and sultry eyes who smell faintly of mystery. And yet, there's something about this stranger, something infuriatingly magnetic, that irremediably pulls her in... until a connection forms. But wait for the moment she realises that maybe he was too good to be true, and that she should've just listened to her gut and not bet a single paper clip on that handsome stranger. What follows is not love at first sight. It's far messier than that. It's stolen glances and shared silences. It's the kind of connection that makes just five minutes apart feel too long. Emotionally constipation at its finest. The kind of thing that's definitely not love... until it inconveniently is. Is it? I don't know. So, sit back. Buckle in. And prepare for turbulence. Not just the kind that rattles the plane, but the kind that stirs something deeper. This isn't just a story about almost missed flights and found people.

[COMPLETED] "Shoot," Joey mumbles, letting out a string of profanities under his breath. We turn around to find a group of men, all with guns, standing where we just came from, and they look pissed... probably because they were forced to run through this tunnel after us. "Thought you could get away, didn't you?" The man who I saw before asks. His husky voice booms in the hollow tunnel, reverberating off of the dirt walls. His voice sounds familiar, and a realization strikes me. It sounds like the man from my dream. I remember him holding a gun and wearing a blue suit, smiling evilly at me. "Leave us alone," Joey says, sounding dangerous and snapping me out of my thoughts. The levity of the situation hits-we need to get out of here. I look around for a route of escape and thankfully I see a light, literally, at the end of the second tunnel. I let out a small, almost inaudible, gasp and nudge Joey. He looks at me and I subtly gesture with my head to the second tunnel. He glances at it and immediately we are on the same page. His jaw sets and he looks at the group. The man speaks up again, chuckling darkly-a sound I will never forget and will be permanently etched into my brain, "You can thank your father for starting this mess." -------------------------- Liza was a normal teenaged girl, living the average life that an eighteen year old girl should be living. She had good friends, good grades, a happy family, a loving boyfriend, and an overall content life, seemingly having everything a person could ask for. However, when she somehow gets thrown into the mix and is in the crossfires of a brutal mafia war that she has no business being a part of, things spiral out of control and she has to do whatever it takes to regain her freedom. In this hectic adventure of gun fights, torture, bank robbing and intimidating mafia men, Liza has to face it all, putting her average life on the line in order to defeat the bad guys and go back to her normal way of living.

Sir Lancelot, his faithful First Knight. Guinevere, Arthur's promised bride. Garreth, her best friend and cousin, the son of Merlin (Myrddin), the great wizard. It sounds just like the Arthurian Legend, doesn't it? But... What if everything happened differently? What if the young Princess Guinevere was not so keen on marrying Prince Arthur, whom she met... when he came for a week-long sightseeing tour to her father's kingdom accompanied by dashing Sir Lancelot? What if she was... dressed as a knight, pretending to be a bodyguard hired for the visitors? And... What if it was 'a she', who was destined to pull the sword from the stone and thus unite the kingdoms? This is my version, a humorous retelling of the famous legend, a medieval fantasy- coming of age- romantic comedy. *This story is purposely historically innacurate, set in some parallel, fantastical Britain that is different from what it had really been in the past, even though I'm using real locations, historically confirmed battles, and the Saxons as enemies of my legendary King Arthur. "Who told you to lay on my bed little girl?" I heard a deep comanding voice said from the door. "Well you were not here and it's not customary to keep your guests waiting so I decided to make myself comfortable" I responded with a smirk. "So you think this is funny or acceptable?" He said with his voice clearly annoyed and irritated. "Are you irritated your highness?" "I take offence to being called little girl, your grace" "Are you not a little girl?"
