"Who's the girl this time?" I sighed looking at Jake. He smirked and scanned the room. I cant understand why. I pretty much got all those girls to give it up. He pointed at a petite girl in the back of our class. Her nose in a book. Blocking the world around her. I don't know her. "That one in the corner" he said. I sighed and nodded. Shy girls are the easiest.

As I walk into the school, he spots me and immediately starts talking to me. I brush past him, ignoring him, but today is definitely not my lucky day... He grabs my arm firmly, stopping me, and turns me to face him. The pain on my face contorts his expression. "What's wrong, Emma? Lost your voice, lizard?" I don't look at him; my head is hung low once again. "When I'm talking, you need to look at me!" he shouts, lifting my chin so I have to meet his gaze. I look at him, but it's not with innocence; it's with anger. "Oh, look, Emma's angry, everyone!" he mocks. "Just leave me alone," I say, meeting his eyes as I pull my arm free from his grip and walk away. He stares at me, shocked, as do all the kids around us, not expecting what I just did.
