A dare changes the life of Iris Payton forever. Earth has split into three regions, the land, the sea, and the dead. In 2017, the apocolypse spead out and zombies were created. Every one thought it was the end, but a town was formed. And that town grew and grew till most of america was safe. But just outside of this new town, the zombies still lurked around, waiting for human flesh. When Iris is given a chance to join the Strays, a group of teens that are that are the bad kids of the now, Iris is forced to do a dare to impress the Strays and her crush. But is it all worth it to spend a night beyond the ridge, with the zombies?

Which is hard for her considering she never was able to be around people. Shes not a people person. Shes a closed off, strong willed, lone wolf. Shes needs to learn how to survive with the dead walking around. Will she be able to survive with the new people she's going to meet?
