Los semidioses no tienen vidas normales, siempre rodeados de monstruos y profecía; pero la vida de Reyna es todavía menos normal
Después del encierro de su padre en Puerto Rico, la servidumbre a Circe en su isla maldita, la captura de los piratas y la llegada al Campamento Júpiter, Reyna decide tomarse un descanso de hija de diosa de la guerra y ser una chica normal de 18 años, un año de parentesis, para empezar la universidad en Nueva Roma con Percy y Annabeth.
Lo que no se esperaba es que esa "normalidad" fuera a ser tan movida gracias a Jake, un chico que estudia bellas artes en Nueva York, aparentemente normal pero al que le persiguen todo un séquito de monstruos.
Reyna decide ayudarle, pero en su cabeza sigue recordando su pequeña maldición gracias a Afrodita, "todos los semidioses de los que se enamore le romperán el corazón", pero... Jake no es un semidiós ¿no?
