Ayla thought her life was as perfect as it could be. She had a loving family, amazing friends, money-everything she could ever want. Until that one moment. It started as a small stumble, which led to a bigger fall, which led to a moment that changed her life forever. That moment haunts Ayla every day. She can't forget it, and she keeps blaming herself for it. When she gets a new family of strangers and eventually starts a new school, she makes a promise to never let herself get too attached to anyone or anything again. Her passions start to fade away, leaving nothing but negative thoughts in its wake. Then the anxiety kicks in. Then the self-esteem issues. Then the depression. Then the thoughts of suicide. All because of a tenth of a second. But maybe someone can save her. That mysterious jerk with the silver eyes and gorgeous smile? The loud girl in the choir that never seems to be able to shut up? The twins that have an obsession with Truth or Dare? The worried parent that has never seen her own daughter smile? Will Ayla ever be able to see the world in color again rather than in black-and-white? As she gets caught in a forceful whirlpool of depression, perhaps someone can pull her out. Or at least give her the will to pull herself out. __________ The background image for the cover was taken from here: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/618682067529742670/

Violet Ferrari is at breaking point. Moving out of home was supposed to fix her problems, not exacerbate them. All the shit she tried to escape, came right along with her - the grief, the guy, the pain. It won't go away. She's spiralling. One misstep, and it's over for her. Rio Valenti has fought his whole life to make it to this point. The start of his professional basketball career is just around the corner. He can't lose focus now, not with his criminal ties hanging over his head. He's on the edge. One misstep, and it's over for him. The rainy college town should have been their safe haven - the wetlands surrounding it a moat separating them from their pasts. The two meet in their freshmen year, with little in common but their social circles. Violet spends her days numb - hiding from the pain in any way she can. Rio runs from his. He's out from dawn to dusk, if not on the court, then scrounging up money for food or finding somewhere to sleep other than his car. What divides them most... is hope. Rio has it. Violet doesn't.
