SPOILERS TO UNDERTALE AND THE GENOCIDE ROUTE IN PARTICULAR, IF YOU DON'T FULLY KNOW THE GENOCIDE ROUTE, THERE MAY BE SPOILERS.
Frisk and Chara's gender are up to the viewer to decide and I have ALWAYS seen them as females, so that's what their gender shall be (sorry to the ones who see one or both as males!).
This is my first ever fanfic, so I'm really sorry if it's bad! Please feel free to criticise and point out spelling and grammatical mistakes and better usage of words because I really do want this to turn out well and be something I'm proud of!
PLEASE READ THE CHAPTER "Need to Know" as I shall be laying down some important things both relevant and not to the fanfic. Read it after the blurb, even if you decide not to read this (because it may change your mind!).

It's almost done, only the skeleton remains, after he's gone, life truly will be meaningless. The ability to Reset, to travel back in time, it's too powerful. Trying to stop them only delays the inevitable, it's just so hopeless.
Until Chara grows impatient and slips up, only a minor error, but it's enough to tip the scales a give a small window of opportunity to change everything. Losing her hold on her host, Chara desperately fights to get them back and finish what has begun.
Except Sans has different intentions in mind, he can't kill what's already dead, but he's a scientist, he can come up with some way to stop Chara, for good, right? The easiest option is to forever keep the host locked up away from monsters and humans alike, but that's not his solution, not if he can help it.
A different fight with the same goals has begun between the two sides, and even the greatest outcome might not be the best one. Yet there will be an ending and someone will claim victory, whether over corpses, a new beginning, or something else entirely.
However, all of them are unaware of the man who speaks in hands...
