Hi, I'm Arianne. I'd tell you about my life, but it wouldn't take long. Basically because my life is a book. The Fault in Our Stars to be exact. I can't stop reading it, mostly because of a character in it named Augustus Waters. He's so perfect. There's no boy my age that could even begin to compare to his perfection. All guys in my school are sports obsessed, and strive to keep their reputation. Augustus isn't like that. He's adorably intelligent, gentle, kind, respectful, and just overall amazing. "Why look up at the stars, when the biggest star is you?" Polaris sits as the brightest star in Ursa Minor. Everyday, while the other stars of the constellation work on making their orbit, Polaris observes the Earth, wondering what'd it be like to live as a human being and find love. One being stands out in particular to Polaris. It was love at first sight. That proves to be a bit hard since the two are separated by the Baltic and North seas as well as one, big Atlantic ocean. This fact continues to depress the two... how will they figure it out? "I'm sorry, but I'm a rainstorm. I don't want you to be caught in that". "You're my perfect rainstorm". I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. I never understood that, until I got my legs chopped off. My parents whispered to each other "He'll be touching the stars soon." I was angry. Furious at them for thinking that I wouldn't make it. That I wouldn't survive. I looked at their wet faces, covered in salty tears, and suddenly felt a reason for pity. They had a reason to think that way. I stare at the stump. I looked up to the ceiling. Then I hear a baby cry to the room next to me. Someone just gave birth. The doctor walks into the room and holds a prosthetic leg in his hands. Cradling it in his arms like a baby. "So?" I ask. Expecting him to answer. "So what?" His response was weak. So much for being a doctor. "Is there a chance that I may be able to touch the stars soon?" He gives me a friendly, yet pitiful smile. "No sir. You'll be under the stars for longer."
