The war is over but now with the fighting done questions must be answered.   Captain James Stevenson has been assigned to find out why Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.  Will he discover the truth or just a victor's self justification?  As Stevenson searches for the past, his wife Bonnie lives in the now and that now is Occupied Japan.  Bonnie doesn't like being confined and she fully intends to ignore the orders to limit contact with the Japanese.  Stevenson's translator Tanaka Hibiki is forced to discover what Japan has done and to bear the weight of losing a war.

The object of this book is to show what led to Pearl Harbor and what life was like in post war Japan.
