After years of running, scheming and plotting against Klaus, the trio make a stand resulting in Elijah's disappearance, Katherine and Klaus at a stalemate, and Damon Salvatore returned to a human. Katherine promises to turn him back, but only after he spends a year living in Mystic Falls. The same Mystic Falls that Elena Gilbert has returned to after graduating from college.
