Olive's parents; Brett and Jenna Maher had never had money as children. They grew up on the streets doing anything for money. But that all changed when they were given the opportunity of a lifetime. Olives' parents wanted her to find her own way in life not just rely on their money for everything. Brett and Jenna gave Olive a choice; move out and try to find a way to support herself or leave with $1,000,000 and have no contact with her parents or family ever again. Olive thought they were just being horrible parents making her choose between her family and the money. She had until her 18th birthday to decide what she was going to do and come her birthday Olive would have to make up her mind.
