August & Colin | WRU series | book 1 We take risks. We make mistakes. We lie. We love. We hurt. We lose total control. I took a risk. I paid the price. I made a mistake. I felt the guilt. I lied. I lie. I loved. I try not to. I hurt. I still do. I lost control. I'm losing again. I try to stick to my plan, I try to follow my rules, I try to silence my heart, I try to keep control of the domino stones that represent my life. But one domino fell and the rest just followed. *** "We shouldn't do this," he whispers against my lips. I should applaud him for having the strength to act on that thought because I haven't been able to. At one point I wanted to, but his touches made the impulse to stop vanish. Now, the only thing I want to act on is the longing inside my chest as I think about demolishing the space between us. "Do you want to stop?" I can feel his frown against my forehead. He nudges my nose before placing a featherlight kiss on my mouth. His hands slide over my jawline, his thumbs slowly caressing my cheeks. He gives me another kiss. Slow and deliberately, as if he's still debating the answer to my question as he slicks his tongue over mine. He softly sucks on my bottom lip, dragging it with him when he pulls away. What I Once Called Love: The Drafts by alexclarkbooks

This is my story, or rather a compilation of stories that spans more than a decade. Each piece is written from a place of truth with the exception of the names mentioned. The book itself will broken into sections, with each representing a different moment of my life that was instrumental in helping me define what love is and what it is not. This is a handful of chapters available for preview. Keep in mind, these pieces are drafts so they are in no way perfect so please be patient with me. She stitches him with presence. He sees himself as broken pieces. She sees a mosaic full of stories. He wants her to stay away from his darkness. She wants to enlighten his world with her shine. He thinks love must be earned. She makes him believe he deserves it. She fell for him in childhood, oblivious to the storms he silently carried. Years later, when they met again, he fell harder for her, but destiny had other plans. When his past knocked on the door of the present, love shattered, taking them through a journey filled with pain, heartbreak, and sacrifice. This is not just a love story but a path of rebuilding trust that wavers, holding onto hope that persists and choosing love that refuses to give up. Step into their world, where love is a battlefield and hope is the only weapon they have left.

Jona has had a not great upcoming and life. Family issues. Trauma. Toxic friends. Drama. Fake friends. Childhood trauma. So it caused insecurities, low self esteem, trust issues, fears/worries/doubts. She lived life viewing through a tinted lens. She meets this older man who showed her what it's like to love and be loved. He taught her so much. He brought color to her life. She was finally happy. Life began to look up. Giving her so much. This is a story about Jona who loves Tristin with her soul. She'll love and be with him until the end of the line. Because a line extends in both directions with no end. A way to say she'll always love him and that she's with him forever because a line doesn't end. So her love will never end.
