Shadekit is born to honored warriors in the legendary VolcanoClan. He admires his courageous, fierce, merciless Clanmates and can't wait to join their ranks. Living in the dense mountainous forest with the vast ocean on the horizon, he couldn't imagine a better home.
But when he discovers a cat hidden from society, his whole world changes. A small wisp of a hidden truth about another Clanmate stops him dead in his tracks.
It was as if the dark truth was shattered into hundreds of pieces, each one sending a sharper pang of dread into little Shadepaw. Everything he thought he knew was a lie. As Shadepaw learns more about the place he calls home, he begins to see the grave danger hidden beneath pleasant words and smiling faces. Instead of the big, happy family he imagined VolcanoClan to be, there are rivalries that run deep. Can he piece together the puzzle before lives are taken over a lie?
