Robin is a 17-year-old nonbinary transmasculine person who was once very popular and well-liked among their peers. However, once they came out, they quickly learned what it was like to be bullied by nearly everyone at school. The play starts with Robin re-reading their suicide note and then leaving their home to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. They run into Ezra and Hazel, two people from school's Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) but quickly run off in fear. After they attempt suicide, Ezra jumps off the bridge after them while Hazel calls 911. The next scene takes place in the hospital, where Ezra and Robin are injured. Robin is brought to the psych ward of the hospital, where they start to learn about loving themself and finding support in unusual places. Once they get out of the hospital, they meet up again with Ezra and Hazel, who quickly become their friends. However, they also run into Lexie and Kayla, their former friends who caused them to attempt suicide. Meanwhile, Robin is trying to cope with their parents, who are recovering from being quite abusive to them as well. In the end, Robin learns valuable lessons about friendship, life, family, and love.
