It ruins everyone's lives. 

My mother, brutally killed by rebellious Insurrectionists, my father, killed by a ruthless alien enemy, the Covenant. 


My opportunity for vengeance comes when I'm accepted to train at an ODST boot camp.  There, I train to prepare for a living hell. And when I'm introduced to the battlefield, all I see is blood, metal, and the bloody corpses of my fellow soldiers. But even after several years after my enlistment, I'm still up and running. The only two things keeping me alive? Luck and skill. They have protected me from what slaughtered my comrades in battle. They are the two things that kept me alive that night when the insurrection prevailed, or when the Covenant slaughtered millions at Harvest. 

They are what we ODSTs count on when no other strategy triumphs.

This is a remaster of the original story: We Live on the Battlefield, which was very flawed in my opinion. I'm trying to fix the various problems with that story. This will also include Halo: Redemption's storyline, which also needed tweaks.
