With no magical powers of her own despite her pure-blood parentage, Hazel spent summers with her wizard cousins, Theseus and Newt Scamander. An only child and a disappointment to her magic-obsessed mother, Hazel blossomed with the kindness and understanding of her second family.
Eventually she resettled in France after the war to start a home for orphaned squibs, who could be raised away from magical expectations, where they learn to find their own power.
Only now that Grindewald has escaped MACUSA in the States, and is back in Europe, does Hazel fear for her life and those of the children she swore to protect.
