She helped him with the cravings and bloodlust, he took away the loneliness. All was good. They were happy, in love, and ready to spend an eternity together. Then she disappeared.  

He searched for her for years, but you can only have so much hope. So he came to the conclusion that she died. He was heartbroken and thought he would never love again. Then he met Elena. She took away the pain of heartbreak and sorrow of losing Ellie. He finally learned to love.
