Kinsley Pickett got dumped the day before her family had to leave for Mystic Falls. It's not that she cared; she was just irritated. Her douche-bag boyfriend waited a day before she had to go. Starting at a new school that's already in session, Kinsley is nervous. With her burdensome insecurities, Kinsley is more focused on her school work and anything else that doesn't involve conversing with other people.

But, being the new girl and all, she's sort of an attention magnet, and all for the wrong reasons. One, because she can run insanely fast and two, because of her looks.

But soon Kinsley finds herself in a love triangle with the two mysterious, brooding Salvatore brothers who are not at all what they seem. High school rumour mills are just the worst and because of it, Kinsley might find her first true love in the hands of another but what does that matter when she has another Salvatore just begging for her attention.

Will Kinsley love Stefan, the boy who became her friend and loved her as her and not her looks, or Damon, the man who brought her into this messed up world of supernatural beings? Only time will tell....
