Bucky Barnes was a man out of time, a man on the run. He didn't know where he was going or even who he really was, but he did know that he had found something special in the little town where he had been laying low for the past few weeks. He knew he needed to move on, but after so many years of pain and darkness and his life not being his own, he wanted to stay put, at least a little while longer. Lauren Mitchell was stuck. Life had pulled the rug out from under her and left her to just deal with it on her own. She was still mourning the loss of her husband when mister tall, dark and handsome showed up in town. He was charming, sweet, incredibly attractive and he seemed just a little bit lost, which was something she could relate to. Fate brought them together. Would fate tear them apart?

There were three things you knew about yourself: 1. Your Dad was a Grade-A asshole 2. You were a mess 3. The Winter Soldier saved your life The world went to shit five and a half years ago, when you had been a fresh-faced twenty-year-old on the run. You took the opportunity with both hands and rebuilt yourself, disappearing and emerging with a whole new identity. That was until Bucky fucking Barnes crashed his way into Madripoor and completely blew your cover. And worst of all- he wanted to help you because your name was on some dumb list of his.
