After an experimental surgery goes sideways, Blair van Watson was left not quite normal. Her new ability to reach out into the memories of other people and manipulate things changes her parent's views on the human memory and so they author a paper together about this new theory.

This paper is found, though, by Steve Rogers while he's hiding away in Wakanda because with this new approach, what was done to Bucky Barnes might just be reversible.

When Steve gets a girl with an ability instead of a theory, things get a little more complicated.
