Run was the only thing that registered in my mind. I ran through the forest stealthily dodging trees and limbs that blocked my path. I pushed myself to continue on and ignore the feeling in my chest, the feeling I can only compare to having your heart ripped from your chest and stomped on. A part of me wanted to turn back and return to the life that I have always known, but another, bigger side of me knew there was nothing to return to.
